The Chaupin Children's School, Peru
Can you imagine anyone not being touched by the beauty of these children and their teachers?
All of us at THOTH believe the most profound beauty is in the school’s vision - it is the only school in the entire region which teaches the children local costumes, dances, music and rituals and paying tribute to Pachamama.
Its hard not to get excited by the fact that the Chaupin curriculum is poised to be adopted by other schools in Peru. There may be no better way to help insure that the Wisdom traditions of the Andes thrive and serve the Great Work…. AND we want you to be a part of making this happen!
Sadly, the sustaining funding Chaupin enjoyed for some time has dried-up due to circumstances beyond their control. As a result, Chaupin is experiencing short-term challenges in providing teacher salaries (they need $22,000 US; pays for 4 teachers for 1 year) and their bathrooms and kitchen are critically in need of upgrading (cost: $13,000 US; pays for construction of completely new facilities).
Since our return from Peru, THOTH’s board voted unanimously to make support of the school a strategic priority for the organization. Thus, in our upcoming campaigns and communications you will be hearing more about how we intend to strengthen Apu’s long-term vision to bring the wisdom and practices of our Andean ancestors to even more children.
But we need your help as THOTH develops its long-term support strategy for Chaupin.
Please make a donation to assist with their urgent and threatening short-term challenges as THOTH continues to develop its long-term support strategy.
