SIPAPU: Emergence in the Land of the Mother of God

Ron Fouts moderated this inspiring, impassioned and informative narrative and evocative slide presentation developed by Shea Armstrong and Jared Zimmerman following their 10 weeks of on-site living at Sipapu in Peru's Tambopata River rainforest. What is Shamanism and why is it relevant today?

Shamanism is the art of seeking and maintaining balance between humans and nature, between the seen and unseen. At the heart of shamanic practice is healing, for without balance healing cannot occur. In the industrialized world we are living profoundly out of balance with ourselves, each other. Our lack of balance is causing rampant destruction of cultural and biological diversity as well as profound physical and psychological illness.

The Heart of the Healer (THOTH) Foundation, a nonprofit organization, founded by visionary, don Oscar Miro-Quesda, is the catalyst for the emergence of a planetary family living in sacred relationship with our Earth Mother. By bridging the gap between indigenous cultural traditions and the modern world, THOTH brings together Gaia's diverse populations in harmony with the planet.
