ACCOMMODATIONS
Shambhala Mountain Center is a Buddhist retreat center founded by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. The center was inspired by the Buddhist meditation tradition and embraces the path of the bodhisattvas or “compassionate warriors”. It is located on 600 acres in a mountain valley of pine forests and meadows, less than two hours northwest of the Denver airport (about 45 miles northwest of Ft. Collins). This site is home to the Great Stupa, one of most significant examples of Buddhist sacred architecture in the world, filled with original art and sculpture that preserves the endangered cultural heritage of Tibet.

Shambhala Mountain Center will register all participants through their website - a link will be sent to you once you have registered for the event.
Lodging fees include accommodation and three buffet meals per day, as well as tea, coffee, fruit and bread throughout the day.

Participation in "Rota" - SMC's community-work-as-practice program is required during your stay. During your time at SMC you are a member of this inspired community, and as a member, service is an important aspect of your stay. Typically, this involves assisting with cleanup after meals and cleaning spaces used by the programs. The Rota commitment for each attendee averages one hour or less per day, and usually involves meal clean-up from 8 – 9am, 1 – 2pm, and 7 – 8pm, as well as maintenance of program space (sweeping and vacuuming as needed). We look forward to your participation.

For questions regarding visit SMC’s website at www.shambhalamountain.org or call SMC at (970) 881-2184 option 5.
